How to sync WordPress blog entries to Blogger.com and tumblr and Posterous

Do you have multiple blog sites?

If your answer is no, then, this blog entry is useless to you. Close this page please.
If you DO have multiple blog sites, and you don’t care about synchronizing one blog site to others, then this blog entry is also useless to you. Close this page please.
If you DO have multiple blog sites as me, and you DO want to synchronize your one blog site to others. You are viewing the right post.

Why multiple blog site?

It’s complicated. I’m owning my own domain totodotnet.net, and is running WordPress on it. Then I also have an account in Blogger.com, it’s good, with elegant design and dashboard. I also happened to have an account in Tumblr.com all because it support markdown by default.
So, I like all of these 3 sites, and I don’t want to abandon any one of them. I decided to do a synchronization with all of these sites.
But, How?

Have you ever heard about “ifttt.com“?

This site is great! It saved me a lot of works. Synchronizing between each site is also done with ifttt.com‘s help.
Here is how:
  1. You need to have a main site.
This means, you need to post your original posts to this site. Since all blog systems provide RSS output, we will use RSS to synchronize entries to other sites.
  2. Add a new rule in ifttt.com
You usually, it can be read as “Sync any new items in RSS[your main site's RSS] to tumblr/posterous/Mail(etc.)”. It’s very straight forward, and easy to use. Just create a few such kind of rules to let it do the synchronizing works.
  3. Blogger.com is not directly supported by ifttt.com
My solution is enable the “Posting using email” option in blogger.com, then setup a rule to send an email to your posting email address on each new blog entry.

Ifttt.com can do much more things

[Ifttt.com] is such an awesome site, it integrated almost all the major web services in the world. You can send a tweet or a facebook post when your new blog entry is posted.
The concept can be separated as read in stream and output stream:
  • read in stream:
services available for read in stream
  • output stream:
    services available for output stream
Now, just enjoy the internet!

AssistantConnect Tweak Combo: Install Siri on iPhone 4, iPod touch without Proxy

You can now install Siri on your iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2 and first generation iPad without using third party proxy server address. This can be made possible by using a combo applications which has just been released in Cydia store – AssistantConnect4S (email Siri auth to non-iPhone 4S devices) and AssistantConnect (use Siri auth from AssistantConnect4S device).
assistantconnect4s
In order to install Siri you must first install AssistantConnect4S cydia tweak that allows iPhone 4S owners to email their authenticated certificate file via email. It actually download all the required data from your iPhone 4S for Siri to work on old generation iOS devices. Developer has warned users to be careful and not to send cert file to more than 5 people in order to avoid penalty or complete ban. This jailbreak app only works in conjunction with Spire jailbreak tweak developed by chpwn and AssistantConnect app.
The next step is to install the Spire tweak on your iOS 5.0.1 (or iOS 5.0) jailbroken iPhone 4, iPad, iPad 2, iPod touch 4G, if you haven’t already. Then install AssistantConnect cydia app on your iOS device on which you wish to install Siri without proxy. Both AssistantConnect4S andAssistantConnect cydia tweaks are available for free download under bigboss repo.
assistantconnect
Alternatively, if you are unable to find them in Cydia list or bigboss repo, you can downloadAssistantConnect4S .deb file and AssistantConnect .deb file and install it on respective devices via iFile or OpenSSH.
If you don’t have iPhone 4S, you can request your friend for it. Else you can try other alternative to install Siri on non-iPhone 4S device. A possible and safe alternative is to use Sara tweak. You can however use this method to get native Siri assistant on iPhone 4. After Getting Siri on your iPhone 4 or iPod touch 4G, you may install any of the 10 Siri jailbreak Apps that will supercharge your Siri experience.
Let us know if you face any difficulty in setting up Siri on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, sound off in comments. Follow @RINKUL for more on Siri.

LockSliderz - Custom Lock Screen Sliders

The iOS slide to unlock feature is fun to use, but it's very limited and boring. It takes you to the same place you left off all the time. With a new jailbreak tweak dubbed LockSliderz by iOS developer Zmaster - the same developer that brought us AndroidLockXT, we can change the way our unlock sliders behave, look, and work.

Looking at the screenshot above, you can tell right off the bat that a few things look different about the lock screen. The most obvious is the Spotify slider, but the main slider also has a different looking icon on it - an unlocked lock instead of an arrow. The other difference you notice is that there is no 'slide to unlock' text. The design is very minimalist, however the functionality can be appreciated by anyone looking for good lock screen shortcut methods. LockSliderz comes with its own section for the Settings application which is shown below:

Shown at the top is my favorite part of any jailbreak tweak; the ability to enable it and disable it at your leisure - great for troubleshooting. Under that you see settings for both the first and second slider. These are not to be confused with the knobs. As it turns out, LockSliderz gives you up to four knobs on your lock screen which is equivalent to two sliders. This gives you the ability to put up to three applications shortcuts on your lock screen. When you enable all of the sliders on your lock screen and make them all size small from the settings, this is what results:

As shown, you can set any applications that you want to for each knob. When you go to slide a knob with an application on it, the device will unlock and launch the application that was defined by the knob you slid. You do not have to have four knobs, or even two sliders if you do not want to. You can have two sliders and three knobs, or you can have one slider and two knobs, or finally one slider and one knob. As you would expect, the knob on the left needs to be slid to the right and the knob on the right needs to be slid to the left.

The last setting in the settings for LockSliderz lets you choose to have an unlock knob that matches the shape of the application knob - making it square too like the image below instead of the appearance in the first image in this review:

The settings for LockSliderz are intense and exciting. It's worth the price tag of $1.49 because it can be extremely useful and because the graphical appearance looks insanely good. It's a great way to bring some life to that lock screen that we all feel could do more, but doesn't. If you have a pass code set and you are worried that people will be able to get into your iDevice with this tweak, then don't fret. The iDevice will require pass code input no matter which knob is slid and when you input your pass code, the application knob that you slid will launch the corresponding application.

I really like LockSliderz and I honestly don't think I know anyone that couldn't benefit from its features. I can recommend it for any iDevice power-users that are constantly opening applications consistently to check for updates such as Twitter, Facebook, and Modmyi. It doesn't cause any kind of graphical lag on the lock screen and it feels as fluid as Apple would have wanted it to be. It requires iOS 5 to be used and works on the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. It's fully compatible with AndroidLockXT and LockInfo too!

SiriMemes - Have Siri Show You A Meme

Problem?

Memes - they are a part of the internet that you cannot escape. They are everywhere. From forums, to social networking sites, to Google searches and now they are a part of Siri! If you don't know what a Meme is, it means that you don't spend enough time on the internet. They are a way to express your face at an instance of time. If you have ever done something on purpose because you know it will tick someone off, then you might get a laugh out of it by sending them a 'trollface' Meme; there are also many more.

A new tweak has made its way into Cydia called SiriMemes by iOS developer xxtesaxx to allow you to command Siri to show you a meme. SiriMemes is a plugin for the AssistantExtensions which was jailbreak tweak made to provide a framework for Siri plugins for iOS developers. SiriMemes was, without a doubt, made for entertainment purposes only because it doesn't hold any useful functionality value.

Using SiriMemes is simple. You just invoke Siri and then speak the words that you would expect for the meme you want to see. There is a complete list of sayings in the Cydia description. For example, saying "trollface" or "problem" yields the 'trollface' meme above. Another one includes the 'y u no guy' meme which can be invoked by saying, "Why you no":

You can also invoke the 'me gusta' meme by saying, "I like":

There are a few other memes as well, but there would be no point in loading this review with a screenshot for each one. SiriMemes is free in Cydia today and you can give it a try for yourself! It's great for playing a joke with friends or simply having a laugh or two on a boring day. I can even think of some people in my own contact list that would love to get a screenshot of one of these showing up in Siri. For sure, this tweak is a disposable one. You will probably have fun with it for some time and then get rid of it shortly after.

SiriMemes requires iOS 5 and Siri functionality. You can be using an iPhone 4S with Siri, or you can be using the Spire port on any other iDevice. Either way, you will be able to have your Memes! There are no settings to configure, just install and have fun.

AssistantExtensions - Make Siri More Useful

Have you ever wanted Siri to be more useful?

Let's face it. Some of us have access to Siri and we sometimes find ourselves limited by what she is capable of. Have you ever wanted to simply use Siri to do something that she couldn't? There's an app for that! Or, should I say, tweak. It's true folks. If you want to make Siri more useful than she already is, then now you can with a free jailbreak tweak dubbed AssistantExtensions by iOS developer K3A. It's a special package that lets developers make additional extensions for Siri so that you can make her know how to do more things.

Since AssistantExtensions itself is just an architecture for developers to work off of, it doesn't really have features of its own. It just opens doors for developers to make Siri do more. But, to start you off and to keep it exciting, the developer also included a few extensions within it. The first built-in extension is demonstrated by the image above and it lets you have a conversation session with Siri. You just say something like, "Let's chat" and Siri will launch the chatting extension from this tweak to talk with you. I guess it's a way to pass time if you're bored; right?

The second extension that is built in is a YouTube search function that allows Siri to location YouTube and search for specific keywords that you ask her to look for. So let's say you saw a video on YouTube not too long ago and you don't quite remember the name of it. All you remember is that the title had the word, "bird" in it. Simply launch Siri, ask her to search for, "bird" on YouTube, and the next thing you know, you have a ton of search results from YouTube containing the word, "bird" in their titles. Below is a demonstration image of using the YouTube search function through Siri:

AssistantExtensions doesn't come with any options to configure nor does it add any icons to the home screen; it only comes with the ability to open up Siri's capabilities. We hope that developers will find this tweak useful because honestly, Siri doesn't do a whole lot. The things that we see Siri doing in Apple's television commercials are redundant and boring and are used in rarely any of our daily lives. This plugin should allow us to make her do more things - and who knows, perhaps Apple will take some tips from this development and integrate them into Siri the same way that we saw with Apple taking ideas from the jailbreak community to improve iOS 5.

AssistantExtensions does require both iOS 5 and Siri functionality and it will work on devices were Siri has been ported such as the iPhone 4. To make extensions, developer need only to follow the simple instructions that the developer of AssistantExtensions included in Cydia - link to those instructions here. Grab it and try it out; it's free in Cydia!

Version: 1.0.1-3

DomeSkin Protective iDevice Skin

DomeSkin is a company based right here in the USA, in sunny Irvine, CA. They're actually owned by Oten Inc., who also owns Sena Cases (you know, they make classy leather stuff for your iDevices).

Cool - so what's a DomeSkin? These clear 3D skins over original designs for your Apple device are very fun! They're scratch resistant on the front and back, and give you the peace of mind of a protective case without the added bulk. There is, however, nothing protecting the sides of your iDevice, and buttons are exposed. DomeSkins provide a certain level of protection with a healthy dose of personality.

There's tons of designs to choose from (check out their site). The skins are reusable, created from 3M material, and come off clean. It wasn't difficult to neither apply nor remove - but be careful if your phone has a screen protector as it might take that with it.

There's a solid collection to choose from, with designs to satisfy most anyone. You can purchase Dome Stickers for iPhone at $19.99 and for iPad they retail for $29.99 - grab them directly from DomeSkin.com. We've got a few to give away as well - the 2 iPhone 4 ones pictured in the first picture in this article, and a girly one with hearts for an iPad 2. Leave a comment below with which one you want, and we'll ship them out to some winners this week!

OpenURL NCWidget - Navigate iOS and the Web Easily

If you have ever wanted a quick way to get around the Web from iOS or a quick way to launch applications, iOS developer Maxhasadhd has a new Notification Center widget dubbed OpenURL NCWidget that will set you back 99¢ which you may enjoy using. It is text-based navigation widget, so it will remind you of Spotlight.

The widget has two main functions - opening applications and making Google searches through Safari. If you want to make a Google search, you type your query in the search bar and then tap the return button which will in turn launch Safari in which Google is all loaded up and showing your query search results. If you want to launch an application using OpenURL NCWidget, then you have to type the name of the application in a URL scheme. If you want to launch the Maps application per-se, you would type in, "maps://" and then tap return and the Maps application would open up for you.

The graphical user interface of OpenURL NCWidget doesn't look half-bad. It's pretty nice looking; not too heavy and not too light. I enjoy how it is nicely centered and the animations that follow launching an application or Safari search are Apple's own application switching animations. That being said, it doesn't feel out of place.

I'm not necessarily a fan of having to type the name of an Application in URL format since Spotlight can search my applications with a live view list without needing to do so. This is a factor that falls under the Apple design principle of making things user-friendly. In some cases, your friends might not know what it means and it could be a chance for you to show off.

OpenURL NCWidget is an iOS 5-only jailbreak widget since any older firmwares do not have Notification Center. There are no option to configure except for adding or removing the widget from Notification Center via the Notifications section of the Settings application. It is fully compatible with the top shelf of IntelliScreenX, so this might make a good widget for hiding and showing on demand using that feature. The developer promises that there are new features that will be added sometime soon including:
  • A button to show you a history of opened URL's
  • A button that shows you all applications and their URL schemes for easier application launching

House Hunter iPhone App is your way to a New House

House Hunter, an iPhone app that was built to streamline real estate search for consumers on the go that was introduced by AGBeat, last summer. “My Agent” offers branded mobile apps for Realtors to provide to consumers, announced by the company today. It has the same functions as the House Hunter app has but the difference is that it shares a dedicated Welcome Page and Agent Contact page that agents can easily customize.
People who join the page and want to learn the House Hunter app have to find an agent in their area that will give them the code for the “My Agent” app and then local agents will visit their site to help them, the company says.

Follow Us Twitter, google+ and Facebook Page.

Cre8tiveApps.com CEO Jay Taylor was the one who developed House Hunters. It was based on his own buying experience. The company developed this tool to help the agent with their existing consumer app. It was named this due to its high demand from agents who wanted a brand-able app.
The page shares the contact information of the agent, who is connected with the consumer through the app displayed on the share page. With one click, the user can call or text the agent, or connect through email, Facebook, IM or the agent’s website through this information.
This  is a video demonstration of the My Agent app:
Like the House Hunter app, agents’ prioritized feature list (wants/needs) and the scores they have applied to houses they have seen so far can be sent by the clients. before the summer the company is expecting to have an Android version of their apps.(via: agbeat)
