• This guide is basically for the older model of the iPhone 3GS. You can check you production week by going to Settings > General > About
• If you have a SN beginning like 88926 it means your production week is 26 of 2009. (The week number is 4^th and the 4^th digit of the SN)
• You should make sure that it is before week 40 in order to make use of this unlock. The newer models won’t work with this.

• An iPhone 3GS
• iOS 5.0.1 ipsw file [Download Link]
• Latest version of Redsn0w 0.9.10b5 [Download Link]

How to Unlock / Activate iPhone 3GS Without Original Sim Card on 5.0.1:

• The first step is to update your device and jailbreak using Redsn0w, choose the “Install iPad baseband” when prompted. Deselect Cydia but do install iPad baseband if you have already jailbroken your device. You can follow this step by step guide to jailbreak and unlock your device.

• Wait a while till the installer finishes installing the iPad Basebands and let it restart after it’s done.

• After it has restarted, open Cydia, go to Manage > Sources > Edit > Add and this repo:

• After that just search and install ultrasn0w, restart your phone and put any SIM card in your iPhone 3GS

• Launch Cydia again and again go to Manage > Sources > Edit > Add this repo:

http://repo.bingner.com/

• Search for SAM and SAMPrefs, download and install them on your phone.

• Tap your way to Settings > SAM and tap on “Deactivate iPhone”

• Connect your iPhone to iTunes on your PC and let the iTunes Activate your iPhone officially. You will receive a message confirming that saying “iPhone is activated”
