Best Tweaks of the Week 6/18 - 6/24

Here are the best jailbreak creations for the week of June 18th until June 24th as per the opinion of our staff. This is a weekly recap.

1. Deck HD - $1.99

Deck is a very popular jailbreak tweak for iPhone and iPod touch users by the iOS development team SBCoders, but an iPad version of the tweak was only recently released. With Deck HD, all of your system shortcuts, application shortcuts, and toggles are easily accessible right from a bar at the side of your screen that is invoked with an Activator action. In addition, the interface looks great, inspired by Apple’s linen ‘behind-the-scenes’ appearance and fluid animations. If you need a good toggles tweak for your iPad, Deck HD is the way to go.

2. MountainCenter - $2.99

MountainCenter is a new jailbreak tweak by iOS developers Jonas Gessner and iKy1e that adds another tweak to the Notification Center animations so that it acts more like Notification Center in OS X Mountain Lion, Apple’s next upcoming operating system for the Mac. MountainCenter is used by pulling from the side of the screen to launch Notification Center from behind the interface you’re in, where usually you have to pull from the status bar and Notification Center will come up above the interface you are already in. The animation is fluid and beautiful and works on all iOS 5 devices.

3. iOS 6 Twitter Widget for Notification Center - FREE

iOS 6 Twitter Widget for Notification Center by iOS developer Mathieu Hendey serves the purpose of mimicking the iOS 6 Twitter widget. While it looks almost the same, it doesn’t include Facebook functionality like the real iOS 6 version. The Twitter widget uses Twitter’s updated icon and when tapped, launches a text field for you to enter your Tweet and send it on its way to your Twitter feed. It uses iOS 5’s built-in Twitter integration, which is one reason why it doesn’t include the Facebook feature. Cosmetically, it does a good job of looking similar to the iOS 6 version and you can’t beat the free price tag.

4. SoundPad for Notification Center - FREE

SoundPad for Notification Center by iOS developer Mathieu Bolard is a great sound-mixing widget for Notification Center. It’s great because it’s eye candy, it’s free, and it keeps the children entertained for minutes on end. It has four buttons that allow you to record and play back sounds. This gives you four channels of sound to mix around for your entertainment. That’s all there is to it! Simple and fun.

5. StatusTint - FREE

StatusTint is a new free jailbreak tweak by Rudolf Lichtner that allows you to change the color of your status bar to just about any color you want. You can use a solid color or a gradient – the colors are chosen using two sets of RGB sliders and the color change works in both landscape and portrait mode. Changing the color of the status bar has become a popular demand ever since it was shown that the iOS 6 status bar changes colors automatically to match that of its surrounding user interface. The tweak is free, so if you like having your own customization options on your iOS device, you should grab this!
